I should have written this post a long time ago, but to be honest I was too lazy. But, I just got back from my Malaysia road trip this Feb and promise myself to write about that, too, so it's better if I finish writing about Bangkok & Krabi soon so I can move on.
Let me think, I went to Krabi for a short time, 4d3n but I arrived in Krabi from Bangkok kinda late at night, so there was nothing I could do on first day. The next day, me and my friends joined 4 island tours by longtail boat and it can be booked here.
It's like a compulsory tour for a first timer in Krabi. And sure it's gonna be a wet day because you are gonna visit Phra Nang Cave Beach, Poda Island, Chicken Island, and Tub *not necessarily in that order though*. Well, maybe some of you just want to absorb the sun or sightseeing but once you get to the beach and see how clear the water is, it's hard to resist the temptation to get into the water.
The tour includes pick up transfer from/to the hotel, free lunch, and snorkeling package. Too bad i didn't take some photos when snorkeling. It was a good time, although there were not too many varieties of fishes there. I did enjoy having lunch on the beach, the food was good and with the beautiful view,,,oh, i want to live there if possible.

lunch on the beach. love it. |
After the tour finished, they took us back to the hotel. I had to share about my hotel *actually guesthouse* to you because it was cheap and i considered the room was worth the price. It's Zabava Guesthouse, and you can book it here. Well, fyi i wasn't on honeymoon or such that night, i didn't know why there were 2 gooses there *maybe it's their standard setting*. It's right behind restaurants area and only 3 mins walk to the beach *but not the beautiful beach you see above*, so close.

The third day we visited Tiger Cave Temple by a rented car. It's so easy to rent a car here, maybe you can try this. The owner's name is Aon, she and her husband were very nice and helpful.
Anyway, in Tiger Cave Temple, be prepared to take around 1,200 steps up just to see this statue and this view. Bring your own drink since you won't find any shops on the way up, you will only meet some tired tourist resting on the stairs. Some are still excited, some may just give up.

But if you finally decide to go up, don't ever give up. Keep going up and up and up till you reach the top. I don't say it's really worth it *it's for you to decide*, but it's just kind of unfortunate for going half way. I'd say, whether you go all the way or not at all. For me, though what i saw in the top is just ordinary, i take pride on knowing that i am still healthy enough to be able going up and down.
From here we actually had no ide where else to go because some of my friends weren't interested going to the hot spring. But on our way, we saw a sign to Koh Lanta and googled it for a while and found the information that there are beaches there, so we just went there without thinking again. I forgot how far or how long our trip was, but i remember it took two ferry transfers. By the time we arrived, it was already around 4 or 5 pm and it was raining. Yeay!
We did check the beach for a brief moment, i didn't take photo because it was raining. We didn't even want to look at the beach at first, but considering how much effort we had put to make this trip, so we just liked "what the hell, let's dancing in the rain". But, it's just an ordinary beach, I can find that kind of beach in Krabi, near my guesthouse. So my advice is, if you want to go to Koh Lanta, start from early morning or maybe you can spend one or two nights there to explore the area, though from what i saw, it's more desolate than Krabi.
Last day in Krabi, just spent the day on the ordinary beach and ate a lot of pancakes while i still can. I don't know why but I love this so much.

In conclusion, I was happy with Krabi. I love the beaches, the foods *esp.pancakes*, and of course Thai Massage! Hope to back here some other time, of course.
PS.People whom i rented the car from told me that it's still rare for Indonesian going to Krabi. To be honest, Phuket is more popular and a bit more lively than this place. But, both are good for me.
